GYNECOLOGIC ONCOLOGY (OTHER)

Besides breast cancer, there are several other types of cancers of the female reproductive organs: Uterine cancer (about 27 new diagnoses per year per 100,000 women), Ovarian cancer (about 11 new diagnoses per year per 100,000 women), Cervical cancer (about 8 new diagnoses per year per 100,000 women), Vulvar cancer (about 3 new diagnoses per year per 100,000 women) and Vaginal cancer (about 1 new diagnosis per year per 100,000 women). Although such cancers are less common than breast cancer (about 129 new diagnoses per year per 100,000 women), millions of women are affected by these cancers - in some cases young women, whose prognosis may be especially impacted by an informed and involved management of the disease.
